ArtScape Artist Rachael Brown has found a beautiful way to display her 2024 ArtScape banner. She's shared the process with us to give other ArtScape artists ideas for displaying their banners.
After trying various spots on the house and garage and deciding it was too big for these locations, Rachael and her husband Mike settled on using a wooden fence post to display her banner in their yard. They brought her banner with them to Home Depot and started looking for ideas.
With the help of Home Depot staff, they settled on a 10 foot long metal pipe, one inch in diameter, that can be cut to length and threaded in the store. They needed an elbow and another section to go through the flap,(slot), at the top of the banner. A section of pre-cut 2 foot pipe was perfect for the width of the banner. A flange was used to attach it to the fence post in their yard - a square metal piece with screw holes at the corners for the post, with a threaded hole in the center to attach the metal pipe.
The only other item required was a couple of zip ties to go though the metal grommets on the banner to secure it to the pipe.

"The top of the banner sits at just over 13 ft. and it can be seen from quite a distance away," said Rachael. "We live at the end of a dead end street here in Greenhurst and we've had a number of neighbors come by and check it out. It's good advertising! I posed my painted furniture, (including a pair of chairs I just finished) under the banner."
It's a pleasure to share Rachael's banner display. We would love to share ideas and photos from other ArtScape artists who've found ways to display their banners. Just reach out to leslie@chautauquaartgallery.com
