A partial list of summer art festivals and grant opportunities in the Chautauqua region.

I have a really short post compared to where this started out last week! I know many artist friends who are looking for art festivals and grant opportunities in the Chautauqua region so I thought I would list a few here.

2020 Spring and Summer Art Shows

  1. Infinity Art Market and Auction, April 4 in Jamestown Register now!

  2. Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail, Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-24 Annual open studio and gallery tour throughout Chautauqua County. 2020 applications are closed but you can apply for the 2021 trail this fall. (Applications are usually due back in early December for the upcoming year)

  3. Art in the Park, Sundays, July 5 & August 2, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at Chautauqua Institution (No deadline to apply, generally they accept people on a first come first serve basis.

  4. A Stir of Artists, June 13-14 and August 8-9, in Bemus Point Village Park Deadline to apply: March 31. Download the Application.

  5. Chautauqua Craft Alliance, July 10–12 & August 14–16 at Chautauqua Institution Deadline to apply: March 2

  6. Wild America Nature Festival, July 24-26 at Panama Rocks Deadline to apply: March 31

 

2020 and 2021 Artist Grants

  1. 2020 United Arts Appeal: The United Arts Appeal offers Projects Pool grants to Chautauqua County organizations and to individual artists. Deadline to apply: April 15, 2020

  2. 2021 DEC (Decentralization) Grants Individual Artist Grants: ​Grants in the amount of $2,500 are awarded directly to professional artists for the creation of new work. Deadline to apply: October 2020 Community Arts: Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 are awarded to non-profit organizations, municipalities and sponsored individual artists and non incorporated organizations in partnership with qualifying organizations to present arts and cultural programs of high artistic merit. Deadline to apply: October 2020
